Priest Delivers Powerful Empowerment! UV Photocatalysis Solution Helps Leading Chemical Enterprise Hit an Ultra-High 82.5% Yield in CEC Project

2025-12-25

Recently, a well-known domestic chemical enterprise achieved two major breakthroughs in its strategic lithium battery material project. On one hand, its tens-of-thousands-ton annual production line for Chloroethylene Carbonate (CEC) was put into efficient operation with a stable yield of 82.5%, far exceeding the industry average. On the other hand, it successfully passed the internal audit of the IATF16949 automotive quality management system, signifying its quality system has fully met automotive-grade standards. As the core equipment and technology supplier for this production line, Zhuozhou Priest Electrical Equipment Co., Ltd. provided self-developed customized UV photocatalysis solutions to fully support the client’s pivotal leap from production line commissioning to quality upgrading. Our robust technical strength guarantees high-quality production of new energy materials.

Driven by the rapid expansion of the new energy vehicle industry, market demand for Vinyl Carbonate (VC) — a core additive for lithium battery electrolytes — has surged continuously. As the key intermediate for VC manufacturing, the output and quality of CEC directly determine the supply capacity and stability of terminal electrolytes. The successful commissioning of this production line marks a solid step forward in the partner’s strategic layout within the new energy materials sector.

To tackle critical technical bottlenecks in the photocatalytic synthesis of CEC, Priest’s technical team conducted on-site investigations at the client’s factory. Based on precise analysis of material properties, flow rates and reaction kinetics, we developed a complete tailor-made UV photochemical solution. The system adopts patented UV light sources independently developed by our subsidiary Xupuri Electric Light Source Factory. By precisely matching reaction spectra, maximum photocatalytic efficiency is secured at the source. Meanwhile, our self-developed UV photochemical equipment and dedicated electrical control systems enable safe, accurate communication with the client’s Distributed Control System (DCS). Scientific parameter settings and interlock control guarantee stable, controllable operation throughout the entire production process.

During project execution, Priest delivered full-chain services covering solution design, equipment manufacturing, installation & commissioning, and after-sales operation & maintenance. Led personally by Chief Engineer Liu Yuelin, a dedicated project team was assigned to the project. After equipment delivery, electrical engineers remained on-site for continuous optimization, flexibly adjusting commissioning schemes according to real production conditions. Ultimately, we helped the client hit targeted output and quality standards, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent production of high-end VC products with stable raw material quality.

The success of this cooperation serves as another mature validation of Priest’s UV photocatalysis technology in large-scale chemical new energy projects. It also demonstrates our capability to deliver equipment and solutions compliant with stringent quality management standards such as IATF16949. Refined process control of our technology effectively ensures uniform quality and high purity of key intermediate products, satisfying the downstream automotive industry’s strict requirements for material consistency.

At present, Priest has launched forward-looking technical communication with the client regarding the Phase II capacity expansion plan of this project. Through continuous technical iteration, we support the client in consolidating and expanding its competitive edge in new energy materials.

With the ongoing expansion of new energy and energy storage markets, demand for key material intermediates including CEC will keep rising. Taking this benchmark project as a milestone, Priest will further deepen innovative applications of UV photocatalysis technology in fine chemicals and new energy materials. We provide customized, highly reliable core equipment solutions for more industry-leading enterprises, empowering high-quality development of the global new energy industry from the source.
